What we collect

Blocktivity collects two categories of data:

Anonymous analytics (Google Analytics 4)

If you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. GA4 collects:

  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Approximate country (from IP; IP is not stored by GA4)
  • Device type and browser
  • Referring source (e.g. a search engine or another site)

GA4 is configured to anonymise IP addresses. We do not use remarketing, audience-sharing, or any advertising features. No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected through analytics.

Submission and contact data

When you submit a chain or send a message via the contact form, we store the contents of that submission in our database. This includes your email address and any information you provide. We use this solely to process your request and correspond with you. We do not share it with third parties.

Billing country estimation

When you sponsor Blocktivity or book advertising, we estimate your billing country from your IP address so we can prefill the checkout form. You can review and correct this before paying, and we use it only for invoicing, tax compliance, and fraud prevention. The raw IP address is not stored — only a truncated hash of it, alongside the resulting country code.

Your consent choices

When you first visit Blocktivity, a cookie banner appears at the bottom of the screen. You have two options:

  • AcceptEnables Google Analytics. Your choice is remembered for 365 days via a first-party cookie.
  • Only essentialNo analytics cookies are set. Only the consent-choice cookie itself is stored (to avoid showing the banner again). The site functions fully.

Google Analytics fires only after you click Accept. If you decline, no GA scripts load. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your cookies — the banner will reappear on your next visit.

Data retention

Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for 14 months (GA4's default). It is aggregate and anonymous.

Submission and contact data is retained for as long as necessary to process your request and maintain correspondence. If your chain is listed, basic contact details are kept while the listing is active.

To request deletion of any personal data you have submitted, contact us using the form below.

Third-party services

Blocktivity uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Analytics 4 — anonymous usage analytics (consent required; see above).
  • CoinGecko / CoinMarketCap — market price and market cap data, fetched server-side. These services do not receive any visitor data from Blocktivity.
  • DigitalOcean — hosting provider. The server is in a DigitalOcean data centre.

No social-media tracking pixels, no advertising networks, no cross-site tracking cookies are used.
